Classes

Kingscourt divides the school into two departments: the pre-prep and prep department.  The class size is set at 15-21 and initially they will be taught as a form for most subjects.

 The pre-prep department covers the kindergarten (aged 2 ¾ years) through to the 6/7 year old children.  Kingscourt School has a selective policy and children will be accepted subject to interview and availability of places. The prep department covers the children aged 7/8 years through to 10/11 years. 

The children will be taught as a form for most subjects but will enjoy a wide curriculum and therefore be divided into selected groups for some subjects.  They will be encouraged to move classrooms for different subjects as they move through the prep department preparing the children for senior schools.
