Derren and Julia have asked us to bring to your attention that, despite what sports retailers may tell you, the Astro type of football boot, i.e. the ones with the smaller spiky 'studs' do not give enough grip on an outdoor football or lacrosse pitch.  Given that, at this time of year, muddy conditions mean that children need as much grip as they can muster in their footwear, please, in order to avoid accidents, can you ensure that your child's boots have proper studs?
