Next Steps
At the end of Year 6, aged 11, it is time for our pupils to move on to their next school. Great care is taken to advise parents on the best senior schools for their children. Those in the final years are encouraged to realise the importance of learning to study in their own time. Academic success is a vital part of education and all children are stretched to their intellectual limits and prepared thoroughly for common entrance and entrance exams to a variety of schools which include:-
|
Portsmouth Grammar School Portsmouth High School Churchers College Sherborne College St. John's College |
Wykeham House Meon Cross The Oratory Seaford College Royal Hospital School |
In Year 5 advice is given as to which schools we feel would suit the child best. The teaching at Kingscourt is geared towards helping the children pass the entrance exams for Independent Schools; these are mostly in January of Year 6. In this ever more competitive environment, we also provide practice at interview technique. Kingscourt has an excellent reputation for gaining places at Senior Schools.
