Autumn Term gets off to a sporty start
Kingscourt School Launches Multi Use Games Area
The playing fields surrounding Kingscourt School have been a hive of activity over the summer holidays as workmen installed the school’s new Multi Use Games Area. The artificial grass surface known as a MUGA will play host to a whole range of sports throughout the year regardless of the weather.
The surface has been marked up to contain three netball courts, one football/hockey area and, in the summer, tennis courts.
Parents and friends will have the chance to try out the surface for themselves at a Family Sports Morning to be held on Saturday October 14th from 9.30am to 12 noon.
Headteacher, Mr Jamie Lewis said, “We are very lucky to have 23 acres of private playing fields and garden here at Kingscourt, however, we have struggled at times with waterlogging on some of our pitches. This superb new facility will mean that we can confidently host fixtures all year round as well as introduce new sports to our pupils.”
