Celebrating our love of books on World Book Day

Kingscourt School was filled with favourite stories today as children shared their favourite books from home to mark World Book Day.  The stories ranged from colourful picture books in our Kindergarten, to complicated non fiction in Year 6.

Reading dens were assembled and every child had the chance to swap stories with their classmates and to discuss what makes a good story.

Headteacher Jacky Easton said, “We decided not to dress up as book characters this year as we have a lot of fundraising planned for the upcoming Comic Relief event, but thought we’d let the stories speak for themselves.  We were delighted to learn about new stories discovered by children and, of course, thrilled to see how much these stories mean even to this technologically minded generation.”
