Christmas all Wrapped up at Kingscourt

It’s been a very busy last week here at Kingscourt as we approach the end of the Autumn term and the beginning of our family festive celebrations.  Christmas at Kingscourt is always something we all look forward to.

We had a visit from two of Santa’s favourite reindeer, Glitter and Christmas to start things off. Kindergarten gave us a charming retelling of the Nativity story on Monday followed by a special visit from Father Christmas himself.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, both Pre-Prep and Prep got together for lively Christmas parties involving limbo dancing and magic tricks galore. Also on Wednesday, it was time to put the thinking caps on for the Prep General Knowledge quiz before gathering at All Saints’ Church on Thursday for our two traditional Christmas carol concerts.  Pre-Prep’s in the afternoon took us around the world with colourful costumes and songs from throughout the globe, whilst the older children delighted parents, grandparents and friends with a traditional service featuring singing, musicians and readings.

Friday, the last day of term is always a mufti day so the school overran with brightly coloured festive outfits.  The thoughtful assembly first thing asked the children to give thanks to everyone who helps make school life so pleasurable, the catering team, the music teaching and accompaniment and to everyone who supports their time here at Kingscourt.  After that, the whole school, big and small headed off for a Wellie Walk to build up an appetite for Christmas lunch. As always, lunch was served by our Y6 classes before they sat down together for their last Christmas meal here before heading off to their senior schools next September.  The afternoon was rounded off in traditional lively manner with the whole school Singalong!

We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year.
