Comic Relief Cake Sale Success

Sweet Result for Comic Relief Fundraising Drive

Children at Kingscourt brought in a mountain of mouthwatering cakes and biscuits in order to help swell the coffers of national charity, Comic Relief today.

All classes were asked to donate money in return for wearing home clothes as well as bringing in money to purchase five cakes each from the vast and colourful array.  The school hadn’t held a cake sale for sometime so the children were very excited.

Year 6E’s Grace Falcon-Paterson said, “This is such a simple idea but one which we all love doing. We enjoyed organising the cake stalls and then serving behind the counters. We also enjoyed helping the smaller children to come along and make their choices. We’re so pleased that the sale has raised so much money for Comic Relief too.”

Headteacher Jacky Easton said, “We are always keen to support national fundraising days. Comic Relief is such fun and the children love to get involved.  We’d like to thank all of the parents who have so kindly contributed cakes and money to our fundraising efforts today.”
