We recognise that responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEN & D) is a whole school matter so all of the staff, supported by our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and the Senior Leadership Team, take into account any requirements and make provision, where necessary, to support individuals or groups of children enabling them to participate effectively in the curriculum and activities.

Children can have SEN & D either throughout, or at any time during, their school career. We aim to address special needs as soon as concerns are raised so that learning experiences are appropriate to a child’s current needs.  We make sure that we identify these needs as soon as concerns are raised so that we can support pupils and minimise any future difficulties.

We work in close partnership with parents and carers, valuing their opinions and contributions, to support them in their child’s learning and development.  We make sure parents are aware of the SEN provision for their child, and take their views into account in respect of their children’s needs.

Of particular importance is the support they give to pupils with different levels of learning need.  They successfully provide pupils of varying abilities with different work and successfully focus on the targets of those pupils with individual educational plans and statements.
