Kingscourt Win Super Sixes Trophy

On Wednesday this week, a team of six Kingscourt cricketers headed to Downsend School in Surrey to take part in a Cognita Schools tournament.

Our team was made up of Henry, James, Joel, Ben, Adam and Ollie who were accompanied by Mr Allen.

Kingscourt played four games in the preliminary round, winning three and drawing one.  They also received bonus points for taking a large number of wickets meaning that they progressed to the semi final of the trophy competition.  Their opponents in the semi final were Milbourne School who put up a good fight but were eventually beaten by Kingscourt by a resounding 30 runs.

Mr Allen said, “Kingscourt’s bowling on the day was superb which gave us a definite advantage.  The boys gelled really well and didn’t let the occasion daunt them.  They should be justifiably pleased to have done so well.”

Henry added, “It was great fun, we playd a lot of games but really enjoyed ourselves and of course we were very pleased to win the tournament.”

As well as the trophy, each player received a medal as well as tickets to see a Surrey county match in early August.
