New Horseriding Club Saddles Up

Kingscourt's new horseriding club saddled up this week

Kingscourt School’s brand new horseriding club had their first outing to Catherington Equestrian Centre this week. The two groups, one novice, one more experienced worked under the expert tuition of teacher, Miss Hannah Lejasemeiers who is also a BHSAI instructor and Pony Club coach.

The group met on Tuesday to learn about Stable Management and Horse Care before going along to the Equestrian Centre on Thursday to get into the saddle and learn safe walking and trotting techniques.

Miss Lejasmeiers said, “It was lovely to see so much enthusiasm from all of the pupils especially those who have never tried horseriding before.  Each week we will build on their knowledge both inside and outside the classroom and eventually aim for the club members to take part in a show.”

Y4 pupil, George L said, “It was brilliant, once I’d put on the clothing and the hard hat I felt like a real rider. Getting onto the pony for the very first time was a brilliant experience. I can’t wait until next week!”
