Spring Term Head Girl and Boy Announced
We are delighted to present our new senior prefects, Head Girl Grace and Head Boy Theo. Both were selected by the Senior Management Team for the contribution they are able to make to life here at Kingscourt.
The new posts were announced in an assembly late last week by Headteacher, Jacky Easton.
Grace commented after hearing the news, “I was so shocked when it was my name that was read out. There are so many kind, intelligent and helpful girls in my year, all of whom could be excellent Head Girls. I am really looking forward however to my time in the role as I enjoy helping others and making sure no-one’s left out or unhappy. I’ve come up with some ideas to help everyone maintain strong friendships and am planning some other new strategies also which I hope will be useful.”
Spring term Head Boy Theo said, “I was so excited when I found out that I was going to be given the role of Head Boy this term. It’s going to be amazing. I know that there will be lots of responsibility and I hope to be a good role model to younger pupils.”
Deputy Headteacher, Jamie Lewis explains, “At Kingscourt the children enormously value the interaction between different year groups. We increasingly place responsibility on the shoulders of the senior pupils in order to develop their leadership and organisational skills whilst the younger years look up to their older school friends for support and guidance. The key children in this set-up each term are the Head Boy and Head Girl who set the tone for the rest of the school to follow. Theo and Grace have shown themselves to be outstanding role models over the course of their Kingscourt careers. They both work hard, are well mannered, respectful and caring in their approach to school life and for these reasons, fully deserve the positions they have been awarded for the spring term.”
